Not only have I been running around like a maniac, it’s also hot here. FINALLY. I’m totally not complaining. I’m loving the upper 80’s. Which for many of you is cool, I know. But here in Washington, it’s a heat wave. I’m drinking lots of water and craving salads and fruit. In fact, I think I’ll definitely be making the BLT Chopped Salad featured below. And maybe a few light cocktails.

Cooking Tip of the Week
I’m not big on adding sweeteners to my pasta sauces, but I know a lot of people like to add a little sugar for the contrast. If you’re trying to avoid sugar, why not try cooking carrots into your sauce to sweeten things up? Add in the carrots at the same time you’d add the onions, and puree at the end if you don’t want chunks!
