You’ve heard of (and maybe love) BLT’s but what about those attending your picnic or dinner party who don’t eat meat? Create a spread that everyone can enjoy by introducing the TEAL tartine. This type of sandwich is popular in France. It’s similar to a sandwich except only the bottom of the bread is used. You’ll be able to cut the calories and carbs by only eating a single piece of bread. I think a nice slice of a whole wheat baguette is a delicious base.
Slice up tomatoes, avocados, eggs, and lettuce and lay them out. Allow your guests to build their own or create them ahead of time. I like to keep my avocado slices big but you could also mash them up with a squeeze of lemon juice to serve as a condiment instead of high calorie mayonnaise.
