How many of you avoid chicken thighs because you fear that they’re unhealthy?
Me? Guilty. For years, I bowed at the altar of white meat. Chicken breasts only. But over time, I started to figure out a few things. Like moderation. And that in a slow cooker, dark meat is SO MUCH BETTER.
Why? It doesn’t get dry, that’s why. Thighs keep their moisture. Probably because they’ve got more fat. But like I said. Moderation. One serving of this delicious dish comes in at under 200 calories. Add a little quinoa or brown rice and a nice side of green veggies and you’ve got a well balanced and plate-lickingly good meal!
Now, let’s talk taste. I like a little gravy. I mean really. Gravy is awesome. The sauce for these Apple Balsamic Chicken Thighs is decidedly gravy-esque – but with a tangy balsamic twist. Really yummy and a little surprising. You won’t be disappointed!
