It’s peach season! Peak peach season usually begins around July and ends in August, so time is of the essence! If you’re looking for a delicious way to use up some peaches, you HAVE to try this single serve peach crumble.
You may be wondering, how do you pick a perfect peach? Take note:
- The stem end should be wide and open rather than narrow and restricted
- To select the sweetest peaches, look for the peach’s base color. The peach’s lightest shade, regardless of shade (cream, yellow, orange, etc.), should be a warm color. The best peaches will have no green undertones.
- Finally, don’t squeeze the peaches! You’ll only bruise them.
This peach crumble is wonderful on its own, or served up with a dollop of whipped cream or low fat ice cream. On it’s own, it is a satisfying dessert for under 200 calories! You can obviously double or quadruple this recipe to feed a crowd, but sometimes, you just want a little something – and don’t want all the tempting leftovers. I’m a big fan of single serve desserts for the simple reason that I don’t want a whole pan of yummy desserty goodness hanging around my house.
Whip one of these up tonight and tuck in – enjoy some peaches in their prime!
