Storebought granola? Pshaw. It’s ridiculously expensive and honestly? Homemade is just SO much better and couldn’t be easier to throw together. An added bonus? You can guarantee it’s gluten free (if that’s part of your diet) simply by using gluten free oats – like Bob’s Red Mill.
Also? You can alleviate the unnecessary white sugar. I sweetened this Honey Almond Granola with raw honey – but you could also use pure maple syrup. YUM.
This recipe is really just a blueprint – albeit a delicious blueprint – for granola. You can add things like different types of fruits and nuts, sesame seeds…heck, you could even add some cacao nibs, dark chocolate chips or carob chips.
Double the batch and store it in an airtight container. It’s the perfect quick breakfast in a yogurt parfait, sprinkled over a bowl of fresh berries, or even just by the handful as a snack.
