Crockpot Chicken Stroganoff

This Crockpot Chicken Stroganoff recipe is quick and easy. It’s gotten great reviews over on our fabulous Sister site, Shrinking Jeans, so we’ve decided to share the goodness with you over here at Shrinking Kitchen. This recipe is a crowd pleaser, and my kids definitely enjoy it, so cook for your family today!


Crock Pot Chicken Stroganoff

Yield: 6 servings

This recipe doesn't need much explaining! It was ridiculously simple and easy and my children LOVED it, including the baby. This one will become a staple in our house, that's for sure. I made absolutely ZERO modifications because um, I didn't need to.

Tips:

I served it over No Yolk egg noodles. If you are counting points for Weight Watchers, make sure to add the points for the noodles. Enjoy!

Gather

1 can Campbell’s 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup
16 oz fat free sour cream
1 envelope of Lipton onion soup mix
1 lb of frozen boneless skinless chicken breast

Step by Step

  1. Put chicken breast in crockpot.
  2. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl and pour over chicken.
  3. Cook on low for 7 hours.
  4. Shred the chicken and stir back into sauce.

      Just a standard can! I think 10 3/4 ounces?!

    Just put this in the crock pot, I doubled it and did not have enough sour cream so I used greek yogurt.  I also put it on high so it would be done quicker.  Smells wonderful.  =)

      YAY!! In my opinion, Greek yogurt and sour cream are interchangeable! Let us know how it tastes :)

    My mother used to make something very similar. It was beef, cream of mushroom soup and a package of onion soup mix. It was wonderful, I never even thought to try it with chicken, but I’m sure it’s just as good, if not better with the sour cream! Yum, can’t wait to try!

    Hi, i just found your site and i love it. i want to thank you for all these recipes for free! :0) i was using eatathomecooks.com and i like that site too for the same reasons, but was looking for something a bit healthier when i found yours. i know this is picky and i am so grateful for the recipes that u add, but i was hoping that in future recipes u might add “suggested sides” and then put them with the grocery list too. i know this is so lazy, but i love that i can just print out my recipes and grocery list and I don’t have to think, if i could just do the whole thing and didn’t have to think of the sides that would be even more awesome. i want to thank you again! :0)

    My husband (not my kids) will balk when he finds a tiny mushroom in there. Is there any modification that could be done with Cream of Chicken soup + something else added??

      You can certainly use another cream of soup. Or just run the mushroom soup through a blander and purée the evidence into oblivion! I’ve done that on many occasions!

    Do you actually put the chicken in frozen? Or thaw it first?

      I usually put it in frozen because I never remember to defrost! Is you have it defrosted, you might decrease the time a little…..

    first off,thanks for an easy and delicious recipe. I made this tonight for the first time and it was delicious!! even my husband (who makes faces at the word ‘stroganoff’) loved it! my question is this: when i put the ingredients into myfitnesspal, using fage 0% greek yogurt, the calorie count comes to 164 and 2 g fat per serving. Am I inputting the ingredients wrong? i’m still going to eat it, but for calorie counters, there’s a big difference! thanks in advance!
