I’m a natural girl, but when you’re trying to lose weight, it’s hard to stay away from artificial sweeteners. Almost everything ‘light’ or ‘low-fat’ is loaded with artificial junk. I’ve tried my fair share, and found one or two that I like and use often, but have never been able to get past that ‘it doesn’t really taste right’ feeling. The first thing I tried it in was my morning coffee, and it was perfect!
Since it’s summer (and HOT) and fresh fruit abounds, I whipped up these strawberry banana shakes, and they were so yum! I had to triple the recipe because my kids were SO.EXCITED! The NECTRESSE™Sweetener added just the right amount of sweetness to this frosty recipe.
Normally when I make smoothies or shakes I add honey for sweetness, but honey adds in a lot of calories and carbs, so using NECTRESSE™ really helped keep it light – 100 calories light!! It tasted great, too – like a real ice cream milk shake! I will also try sprinkling it on my Greek yogurt in lieu of honey. Gosh, I can think of a million places to use it!
